A full-time Physical Therapist position is available to provide comprehensive services within a K-12 school setting located in Tavares, FL. This itinerant role requires working across multiple schools throughout the county, serving approximately 40 active students through direct therapy and consultations. The contract is for the current school year, with a start date as soon as possible and concluding on May 29, 2026.
Responsibilities include delivering physical therapy interventions to support students functional mobility and participation in educational activities. The role involves traveling between various school sites within the district to ensure consistent care and collaboration with educational teams. Maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with professional standards is essential.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid Professional Physical Therapy license
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a K-12 educational setting
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 40 students and provide consultations as needed
- Flexibility to cover multiple locations within the district on an itinerant basis
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other professionals
Work schedule is full-time, consisting of 8 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid break. The district is highly responsive, offering quick scheduling of interviews, often within one to two days of application.
